Here are some photos of Brandi Glanville at LAX a few days ago. She flew to NYC to do press, judging from her Twitter feed (she did an interview with Jenny McCarthy). We spend a lot of time talking about Brandi’s dramas with LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian and alcohol, but I rarely pay attention to her beefs and manufactured drama with the other Real Housewives (notable exception: her crazy beef with Joanna Krupa). Like, did you know that Brandi and Lisa Vanderpump have been at war for a while now? It’s true. You probably know that if you watch RHOBH (I do not watch it).
Well, anyway, Brandi was talking about RHOBH late last week, and she was discussing what led up to her “war” with Lisa. And it is HILARIOUS. Basically, it boils down to Lisa spending time with Scheana Marie. Scheana Marie was rather infamously Eddie Cibrian’s mistress while he was still married to Brandi. There was actually overlap between his marriage to Brandi, his affair with LeAnn Rimes AND his affair with Scheana Marie. And in the process of describing the beef, Brandi compared herself to Princess Diana. Seriously.
“Lisa asked me to have a sit down with the woman who was my husband’s mistress for three years, throughout my entire second pregnancy! This woman announced the affair on national TV, not to me, not to confess, not to apologize, but on Access Hollywood, for fame. That’s how I found out my old life had ended. So, with great reluctance for my new ‘good’ friend, Lisa V., I threw myself on my sword and did it. It was hard. It was the first scene on Vanderpump Rules, the crossover. It was a onetime favor. Or it was supposed to be,” Brandi laments. “You’ve all seen Lisa V. throwing that beautiful catered engagement party for that mistress at her house. Treating the mistress like family. It happened a lot. A lot.”
And Brandi leaves us with an insightful takeaway message to ponder: “So, here’s my take or example or whatever: Do you think any of Princess Diana’s really ‘good’ friends ever threw catered engagement parties at their big houses for Camilla Parker-Bowles?”
First of all, a lot of Diana’s friends did help to coordinate Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. That was part of the betrayal that Diana felt – that all of her couple-friends with Charles took his side and helped him cheat. But that’s neither here nor there, honestly. Because Brandi Glanville thinks her situation – which is more than five years past, by the way – is totally comparable to Princess Diana. Brandi IS the Princess Diana of her group. And LeAnn Rimes and Scheana Marie are both vying to be Camilla Parker Bowles. And Eddie Cibrian is totally Prince Charles. Because of course.
